Online Crime Reporting

If this is an emergency, please call 9-1-1 immediately

Please read the following before filing your Online Crime Report

Filing a false police report is a crime! (see IC Code IC 35-44-2-2 False reporting or informing for further)

You can use the system to make an immediate report of a crime in which you are the victim. Is this an emergency? (If yes, please call 911 immediately)

Emergencies should be reported immediately by dialing 911 on your telephone instead of submitting a police report online.

Do you know who committed this crime?

If you know who committed the crime, you should call non-emergency dispatch at 574-235-9611 to file a report instead of submitting a police report online.

Did the incident occur within the Osceola town limits?

If the incident did not occur within the Osceola town limits, you should contact the city or county where the incident occurred instead of submitting a police report online with the Town of Osceola.

Are you eighteen (18) years of age or older?

If you are under the age of eighteen (18) years of age, you cannot submit a police report online. Please have a parent or guardian submit the police report for you.

Do you have an email address? (A valid return email address is required in order to file an online report.)

A valid return email address is required in order to submit a police report online so that we can email you your temporary police report number and a copy of the police report to keep for your records.

Types of Reports That Can Be Filed Online

Cases that involve theft or vandalism and are less than $2,500 which contain no suspect information can be reported on the web site. If you are able to obtain suspect information, we ask that you file a report in the traditional manner by speaking to an officer.

  • Custody Order Violation
  • Harassing Phone Call/Social Media Posts
  • Lost Property
  • Theft (no suspect information)
  • Theft from a vehicle
  • Vandalism
  • Damaged Property
  • Theft from a bank account, and credit card fraud or fraudulent electronic bank transfers (EBT) with no suspect info
  • Identity Theft
  • Anonymous Tip

Once a report is filed on-line, what happens next?

Information obtained from your report will be reviewed and distributed to officers to make them aware of problems you may be experiencing in your neighborhoods. Depending on the solvability factors contained in your crime it may be assigned to an office who would contact you as he/she would for any other type of crime.

The report asks for personal identification information. Is this required?

This information is used for file tracking purposes. The information supplied is not shared with the general public and allows us to give the most complete information possible to the prosecutor’s office for the identification of all parties involved in your particular case.

How do I know that the police department received my report?

Within 3-5 business days, a case number will be emailed to you, which can be used for all further correspondence involving your case. In addition, this case number can be given to your insurance company to follow up on your loss or damage claim.

And finally...

Please make sure all your information on the report is correct and include any home, business or mobile phones that you may have. This reporting web site is being offered for your convenience.
